Cazenovia Junior Attends HOBY NY Central 2022 Youth Leadership Program Cazenovia Junior Attends HOBY NY Central 2022 Youth Leadership Program: With sponsorship from the Cazenovia Lions Club, Rachel Molloy, current 11th grader, represented Cazenovia High School at SUNY Morrisville in June for the HOBY NY Central 2022 Youth Leadership Program.  Rachel participated in activities focused on community service, teamwork and leadership.  Part of the program incorporated a service project, which the participants completed at the Madison County Children’s Camp, Camp Lookout.  Rachel and other HOBY students worked together to clean the camp property, specifically cleaning all the screens and windows in the cabins.  Rachel shared, “I recognized how much good can come from the effort of many.”  Rachel also reflected on the team building activities during the program, “I also realized the ...
CHS Students Receive NYSSMA Recognition CHS Students Receive NYSSMA Recognition: The Cazenovia High School Music Department is pleased to announce that three students were recognized in the State Conference All-State Music Ensembles selection process. The student will rehearse with esteemed conductors and other top student musicians from throughout New York State during the annual Winter Conference of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), held from December first and second in Rochester, NY. Olivia Wong, a junior violinist, was selected as an alternate for the Orchestra.  Senior Elijah Gebers was selected for the Mixed Choir. And senior Ethan Coburn was selected as both an alternate for the Orchestra and a member of the Mixed Choir. CCSD Welcomes Chris Bubble as Assistant High School Principal CCSD Welcomes Chris Bubble as Assistant High School Principal: Cazenovia Central School District is pleased to welcome Chris Bubble, a seasoned educator and Cazenovia resident, as the new Assistant Principal at Cazenovia High School. Chris Bubble has spent over a decade as a devoted educator to the region and started his career teaching and coaching in Newfield, a small town just south of Ithaca.  In his thirteen years with the school district, he served in many capacities, from substitute teacher to teacher and coach, and then as dean of students for four years. After relocating to the Cazenovia community three years ago, he joined the Laker family as a P.E. teacher at the middle school and as a coach. Cazenovia Country Trail Run Slated for Thursday, Sept 1 Cazenovia Country Trail Run Slated for Thursday, Sept 1: Looking for a fun way to kick off your fall fitness goals AND support a good cause? The Cazenovia Girls and Boys Cross Country teams will sponsor their 10th annual "Cazenovia Country Trail Run" on their Fenner Road course this Thursday, Sept 1. The race is open to participants of all ages with a men’s race to kick off at 5:45 pm, followed by a women’s race at 6:30 pm. The entry fee is only $10 to participate, with an added $6 fee for those who wish to purchase a shirt (first some, first served). Proceeds from the race will be used to help defray costs to compete in this year’s Manhattan Invitational in New York City and other events for the teams. Information about free & reduced meals as well as applications are available on the District’s website here: https://www.cazenoviacsd.com/districtpage.cfm?pageid=3447 . Applications can also be provided upon request.
