Cazenovia Junior Attends HOBY NY Central 2022 Youth Leadership Program

With sponsorship from the Cazenovia Lions Club, Rachel Molloy, current 11th grader, represented Cazenovia High School at SUNY Morrisville in June for the HOBY NY Central 2022 Youth Leadership Program.  Rachel participated in activities focused on community service, teamwork and leadership.  Part of the program incorporated a service project, which the participants completed at the Madison County Children’s Camp, Camp Lookout. 

Rachel and other HOBY students worked together to clean the camp property, specifically cleaning all the screens and windows in the cabins.  Rachel shared, “I recognized how much good can come from the effort of many.”  Rachel also reflected on the team building activities during the program, “I also realized the importance of communication when working in a team setting, following specific instructions to building a tower out of toothpicks and gumdrops.  Unfortunately my team didn’t win; we were close, but what was more important were the lessons learned in the activity.”  Rachel shared that she will remember these experiences for the rest of her life!
