Cazenovia Welcomes Assistant Superintendent Kevin Linck to the Laker Family

There is another new smiling face in the halls of Cazenovia Central School District (CCSD) this year, as the District welcomes Kevin Linck as the new Assistant Superintendent. Discussing his new role, Linck’s passion for student-centered education is palpable, and he indicated that the position focuses on overall instruction, equity and personnel.

“Another goal is to provide supports to ensure that students are treated fairly, with all receiving the same opportunity to succeed”, he added. “Along these lines, there will be an emphasis on leading Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Data Informed Instruction and more.  It is an exciting opportunity that challenges me and has me looking forward to each new day.”
Linck brings a dynamic array of training and experience to Cazenovia, starting with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master's degree in History. After teaching history for 13 years, he decided to pursue administrative leadership. Since then, he has enjoyed a couple of different administrative roles throughout the past decade and feels that all of his past experiences have helped to prepare him to be the best assistant superintendent he can be. “I have really appreciated the roles I have served in, as my days were always different, and they have pushed me to always do better”, he recalled. “I have also been lucky enough to have the opportunity to consistently work with students, and they are the reason we do what we do.”

Being a member of the Cazenovia community for over 15 years, Linck, along with his wife and three children, are no strangers to everything that makes CCSD special. Above all, he stressed that the people are what truly make the district a pleasure to be a part of. “Their willingness to work together, their commitment to consistently make Cazenovia great, and their passion to always be improving is inspiring”, he added with a smile. “Opening Day with faculty and staff was the best day, only to be bested by our students starting a week later.  The students are simply incredible, and we will continue to work hard to give them the best educational experience possible.”
Being new to the role, his initial challenges have been to build trust and rapport, and through this, he will continue to strive to cultivate a collaborative working relationship with students, families, faculty and staff.

As students embark on their first few weeks of school, Linck said he couldn’t be more excited to have joined the Cazenovia team, saying “Not only am I honored to be working with such a dedicated team, but I was so excited to welcome our students back on campus and cannot wait to see what we all can accomplish together.”
