Special Election Update – LWV to Host Candidate Forum; Nominating Petitions Now Available

On July 14, the Board of Education announced that the vacant seat on the school board will be filled by Special Election. The winner of the Special Election will serve through the end of the vacant term, June 30, 2027.

Nominating petitions are now available on the district website, and will be accepted by the District Clerk starting at 12 pm on Monday, August 3 through 5 pm on Monday, August 17, in the District Office during regular business hours. The drawing of lots to determine the order in which candidates’ names will appear on the ballot and the district website will occur at 9 am on Tuesday, August 18. Candidate bios will be added to the district website by 12 pm that same day.

A special thank you to the League of Women Voters of Cazenovia which has agreed to host a candidate forum in the High School Library at 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2026. In an effort to minimize expenses, a newsletter will not be mailed. Rather, voters are encouraged to learn more about candidates on the district website and at the candidate forum.

As a reminder, the Special Election will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in the Middle School Aux Gym. Polls will be open from 7 am to 9 pm.
