Meet & Greet with Young Authors

Stan Tucker is a visiting author and kindness ambassador who visited Burton Street elementary school November 13th and the middle school November 14th. He runs a non-profit called Leap for Literacy, which encourages students to become young authors in his program called "Share Your Stories.". You can learn more about Leap for Literacy here. Last year Stan surprised the school by popping in before dismissal and sharing that not only one, BUT FOUR of our students were selected to be published this year! Now, these students' books have been professionally illustrated and published and are ready for purchase!
The books were just recently revealed at the Picture Book Perfect Evening in Trilith, GA, where young authors from across the country had their moment in the spotlight as their books were unveiled. Some of our Authors were able to attend the event in Georgia and would like to join their peers in hosting a meet and greet event to share their books with the community.
This event will take place June 20th 11am-1pm at Catherine Cummings Theatre. A special thanks to the Catherine Cummings Theatre, Ink & Paper, and The Public Library for supporting this event. Burton Street is so proud of these young authors, who inspire everyone around them to read, write, and dream. Please consider supporting our student entrepreneurs at the event on June 20th.
