FIRST LEGO League Earns Top Honors!
February 12, 2026
Cazenovia’s FIRST LEGO League (FLL), or “The Peeps” as they are known, reached a major milestone this past weekend, receiving the Champion’s Award at the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Finger Lakes Regional Championship.
The event was held on February 7, 2025 and featured twenty-nine teams from across the region. The Peeps were recognized for their exemplary performance across all FLL categories: Robot Game, Innovation Project, Core Values, and Robot Design.
The Champion’s Award is given to the team that best balances technical skill with the FIRST Core Values. The judges noted the team’s strong cooperation, creative problem-solving, and their thoughtful approach to this year’s "Unearthed" season theme. This award reflects the effort and collaborative work ethic the students have demonstrated since the start of the season.
In addition to the overall award, The Peeps earned 2nd Place in the Robot Game. Their custom-built robot completed its missions with a high degree of reliability, finishing with a score of 390. This result is a testament to the hours spent by students programming, testing, and refining their designs.
The Peeps have been invited to demonstrate their robot at the Finger Lakes FIRST Robotics Competition in March and have qualified to attend the Canada Cup of Robotics at Brock University this June. We are proud of The Peeps’ accomplishments and look forward to seeing them continue their journey this spring!
