"Be Safe" Assembly Celebrates Positive Choices
January 30, 2026We are excited to introduce a new school-wide incentive program at Burton Street Elementary called Lakers Lead the Way! This program was thoughtfully created by our Laker Character Crew to encourage and celebrate positive student behavior.
Through Lakers Lead the Way, our students will be recognized for leading the way by being safe, responsible, and kind. During a designated trait week, classrooms will focus on one of these important traits and discuss the many ways students can demonstrate it throughout the school day. All students will have the opportunity to be recognized for following these traits and earn gold stars. Students who earn gold stars will have their names entered into a drawing. Each week, we will pull one name from each grade-level bin, and those students will earn a prize!
At the end of each trait, we will celebrate with an assembly. Our fourth grade Kindness Ambassadors will be leading our Character Assemblies where students will be recognized for being safe, responsible and kind.
We are looking forward to partnering with you to reinforce these positive behaviors and celebrate our students as they continue to grow and shine. Thank you for your continued support of Burton Street Elementary.
