Chromebook Take Home Permission Form
Completion of the Chromebook Take Home Permission form is required for students in grades 5-6 requesting to bring home a Chromebook for school use.
Extra Help for Students
Each teacher in Cazenovia Middle School provides weekly after-school help. The schedule varies depending on teacher schedules.
Any student staying after school with a teacher may take the late bus home. Arrangements to stay after school with a teacher should be made in advance. If a student is planning on staying after school for extra help, the student should be sure that a parent is aware of these plans, so the student is not missed when he or she does not arrive home at the usual time.
Parents may also directly contact teachers to request that their child receive extra help.
Parent PowerSchool
Since communication is one of the keys to student success, Cazenovia Central School District has instituted the use of the PowerSchool Student Information System. This web-based program includes a Parent Portal allowing parents secure access to their children’s grades, attendance and other school information. Please note that although current grades are accessible, there will be a lapse to allow teachers time to grade assignments and enter the information. The Parent Portal’s email capability allows for automated communication between school and home, as well as providing a means of emailing teachers. Parents will be issued a user name and password enabling them to access their student’s data. Usernames and passwords will be issued through the Middle School Office.

Parent-Teacher-Association
Cazenovia Central School is a member of the National PTA which is the largest volunteer association in America. PTA works for the education, health and safety of all children. Cazenovia has three separate PTA’s within its district. They are the Burton Street PTA, the Middle School PTA, and the Jr.-Sr. High School PTSA.

The mission of our PTA program is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in schools, to assist parents in developing skills they need to raise and protect their children and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools. Please join us and have a voice.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Conferences at the Middle School are held on an “as needed” basis. Conferences are scheduled through the Middle School Office. If you have a particular concern, please call the Middle School Office at 315-655-1324 during school hours. In addition to our three half days, conferences are scheduled during and after school hours throughout the year. Parent conference days are scheduled for the following dates:
- October 21
- December
- March
Report Card Grades
- Student performance in all subjects in the Middle School is graded by a letter grade A thru F.
- Interim Reports are available on the Parent Portal after the 5th, 15th, 25th and 35th weeks of school.
- Report Cards are posted for students after the 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th weeks of school. Grades and assignments may be viewed at any time through the Parent Portal.
School Agenda
- Each student will receive a Middle School Agenda. The first pages serve as the Student/Parent Handbook. The remainder of the agenda provides students with a homework assignment sheet with spaces for parent-teacher communication. Each student will be required to bring his/her agenda to each class everyday. Parents should use this as a tool to assist students with maintaining academic progress.
